Cauliflower Mushrooms
These mushrooms are very beautiful because they are so fragrant. They smell like moss, and lavender with a slight hint of pine. A lot of pine needles fall out of them when you are cleaning them, because they are from the real forest. I constantly sneak big whiffs of them on line.
They look like they would be hard to clean. What do you serve them with?
My favert eating ‘shroom is one we collect on rare occasions in the Spruce/Aspen forest. It’s a snow-white Choral Fungus. You can find masses of twenty pounds or more on the sides of fallen logs..usually during or after a rain. It never gets wormy like the others.. You fry it up and it breaks up into tender filaments and you’d swear you are eating crab meat..same texture, flovor, everything.
