Art shows and burnt beans
I’ve been going to quite a few art and music shows since I’ve been back home, because it is quite an artsy place. The last one I went to was called “Easy Livin” and it was done by a young married couple. They enjoy the process of making art that takes a long time, never being in a hurry. I loved the show, it had multiple meanings for me. It reminds me about being present in the moment and enjoying tasks. This is a reminder I need while fixing up my house. So often I want to have the place finished just the way I want it and it gets overwhelming. I forget to break what needs to be done into small jobs and enjoy the process, this show reminded me to do that. The show gave me the same feeling as I had once this summer when I met a lovely girl who would stroll instead of walk and enjoy everything around her. Walking with her changed everything for me.
My house is a work in progress, it’s still no where near where I’d like it to be. I bought some beautiful local organic pink beans and they were almost done cooking, so I turned them on high to finish them just before I went out. I got distracted and went out for several hours. When I got back the house was full of smoke and the beans were just ash. This has set me back a bit, the whole place smells like a dirty smokey motel no matter what I do.
OMG!
I need more pictures of the house : )
