Things are shaping up
The dishwasher finally works and Kyle’s mom Jody came to town and helped us do all of our dishes. We are going to use as many of the vintage dishes as possible, many of them are quite beautiful. We are slowly moving things in and figuring out where to put them. The ice machine has been installed. The same forager that brought me the crab apples, picked me a bunch of nice juniper berries that I will use in curing bacon and fish.
Love the dishware. I got in to the habit of putting a little ‘tab’ and then of my tape labels, makes getting them off for changeover or dishwashing a whole lot easier, and less sticky bits left behind. Just sayin’!
I know, I do normally too, and I usually make a long line of tape and cut it with a knife. Just still trying to find my bearings in my new kitchen…the dishes are all vintage and came with the place.
I love labelling.
Many moons ago, I dropped by Boneta to pour some samples of wines for Neil. I have always enjoyed your blog and I asked Neil if you were in the kitchen. I was going to pour you a glass. Then, Neil said that you had left. It has been a while since I checked your blog.
Congratulations! Your new restaurant looks wonderful – the old dishes, labels on the containers…I think the universe is conspiring in your favour…at last!
Cheers,
